The reason we don’t own android isn’t because these features don’t exist, it’s because we don’t like how they’re implemented. The iPhone is the #1 selling phone on earth for a reason, backed up with crazy R&D ☺️

@Communism is the future yes. In a six inch device, what you should look for is consistency and reliability. These 100x zoom, 4k displays, split screens, are all gimmicks.

@neon_arch Hmmm no, he is just nice. Why should we give apple accolades for adding features that are 5+ years old and improving ones we already have. Also the contact one was so silly, all you had to do before on ANY PHONE(including iphone) is make a contact of your own number and info and share that like you would any other contact.🙃😶

Man iOS 17 is crazy. That sticker realistically showing reflections is sooo good. I mean, it is not definitely a necessary feature, but I really like to appreciate who came up with that idea. Just making stickers feel real. Almost every new thing that came with iOS 17 feels polished and good. Sad my mother's phone can't go to iOS 17, and I'm an android user.

More rundowns like this would be fantastic. This feels very human, a good mixture of what's useful and what's fun, rather than just dismissing gimmicks, you express the value in those features. Heck do retrospectives too if you want to fill some of the gaps.

As an Android user, it's great to acknowledge the smart and useful features that Apple has introduced. It's interesting to see how some of these features overlap with those already present in Android, although each operating system has its unique implementation. It's always good to appreciate the positive aspects of different platforms! 📱👍

Thank you! I love how you approached the new features and explain them I’ve been testing iOS 17 as well and I have to admit it’s one of the best data updates even with the bugs. This was a treat to watch! When using voice typing. The video in the background still goes on which I don't know if that's supposed to be that way or a bug, but something that I've noticed that didn't happen before. :) Thanks again for your great review 😊

The Contact’s widget is great at pulling information about that contact into view. It shows recent emails, birthdays, if applicable and appointments, also address, phone number, Files, Photos. I noticed it doesn’t show Notes and there’s no way to assign those items to a particular contact. It would be great if notes, and any other item can be dragged and drop onto contact and have it soft link to the contact in the contacts so it’s visible without having to type the contacts name as a file name or identify a face to the contact because some photos do not have faces, and it will still be great if pic can associated with that particular contact, for instance, a doctor receipts, scan from Notes or Photos. Just drag drop it onto that doctors contact, and when viewing the doctors or a business contact it shows recent or relevant files in the. Also, it would be great if the note fields in calendar, reminders and contacts soft links to an actual note in the Notes app that will update and sync both ways.

When I got the first beta on my past phone (13 Pro Max) and it worked perfectly fine. Then on the 3rd beta based on user reports of that being more stable and 1+2 being really fine on that older phone, I installed beta 3 on my 14 Pro Max. Unlike others reports of battery drain being excellent and not having issue (better than beta 1 and 2), it was worse than ever but not like.. unusable. Followed with when rebooting the phone, everything went downhill. All wallpapers were wiped, things got weird and battery drained faster… so I ended up DFU-complete re-installing 16.5.1 and restoring a backup I had. It’s a shame but proves that no matter how “stable” everyone says something is, your device could be the odd one out.

Having your audio transcribe with your message is a must-have because it give superb clarity to your message which the receiver can't misunderstand. Transforming your photos into instant emoji is incredibly innovative and fun and the photo should remain the same as when it was snap. Talking to Siri without saying "Hey Siri" is fantastic and super convenient. To be quite frank all the new iOS features here in this video is intriguing and creative.

what us weird with IOS 17 beta is that it consumes less battery for me compared to IOS 16 one a 14 PM ... and it's already pretty stable to install on your main device . no issues with banking apps for example and other stuff that we had each year with the beta of the next IOS. There are lots more changes than this, but this are the more noticeable ones , I'm glad I can finally talk to Siri in 2 different langages , or the improved dual sim support and customization too .

I'm so stoked for iOS 17, and if I didn't have to rely on my personal phone for work calls, I would have already been on the beta. The one small critique i would have is, I don't get with how good the 14 pro max's battery life is, why the phone has to be charging to be in that standby mode. In order to preserve the health of my battery, I charge right after work for just a little while until my phone reaches about 90 percent. I would want to use standby on my magsafe stand, but preferably not while charging the phone. Other than this minor gripe, I'm really excited about this new version of iOS, more so than any version since iOS 7 (which many people did not like; i happened to love it, and that was exactly when i fell in love with the iPhone).

Man this voice recognition stuff is stellar. But then I remember not being from an english speaking country and it’s basically almost useless to me in daily life. When voice assistants first came out they wouldn’t understand my non-native pronunciation, always triggering wrong commands. So for quite a long time I was using Siri in German, despite being from Slovenia. Nowadays Siri understands me well, it usually even recognizes which contact I want to call when I pronounce the name in an english pronunciation. But I still can’t go around sending text messages to all my contacts in English. 😅

2 ай бұрынMonkeOli +8
Cool, just wanted to say, not trying to be rude or anything, but that's kind of how apple keeps their users, making them think they are getting new features all at once after about 3 years. You never really felt this excited when using android because we get all these features when they actually become a thing. After the features are fully polished apple comes in and adds them to their phones and say it's a completely new and original feature as if it hasn't been on most android phones for years. If you feel comfortable on iPhone, stay on it, don't think of my reply as trying to convince you to move.

I love to see this tug o' war. 2 sides, innovations happening in each software. One comes out with this feature, the other needs to respond and adapt to not feel behind. Each has a way to do it. Theres a FOMO from each person, each side, each android manufacturer and iPhone user. In the end, we the consumers from all sides end up winning seeing stuff update. Maybe Apple today and mine tomorrow or maybe I have something you won't be getting until 3 years later, but were all winning together.
2 ай бұрынCaeden Goering +4
100%. That’s why competition is so important. Monopolies stagnate, and the user suffers as a result. That’s why we need competitors. When companies are trying to beat each other to the punch, it can feel temporarily disappointing when someone gets a feature that you don’t have. But, ultimately, the user is always the winner because competition will always lead to improvement.

I am really nervous about how iMessage and mainly this sticker thing being placed all over a conversation will work with getting converted to SMS on Android Messages. Is there a setting/option to choose or was it just something that changed from beta to beta? I filed a feature request about this one because it would be so much more convenient to have the voice message button there because we already have a dictation button easily accessible in our keyboard. ✌🏻

The Dynamic Island needs a landscape mode update (unless that’s already happened, I don’t have a 14 Pro yet). The fact that the newest and biggest feature of the 14 Pro isn’t usable at all when the phone is horizontal is an insane oversight
12 күн бұрынTony Hawk
I would hardly say this is the biggest iPhone update. The non-skeuomorphic UI felt very new back when that was released, and it wasnt fully appreciated until you now go back to the old UI (looks very dated now), and it has set the standard for Android too. And then there is the 64-bit OS - this was an under-appreciated hurdle (OS update, app updates, SDK updates) born out by how long it took Android to then roll 64-bit out (at least 2 years). The tweaks most have been seen in jailbroken iPhones 10+years ago - so it's more a case of how well Apple has implemented them. I mean, in general with OS updates, Apple already had many of the features in another OS (MacOS) or their PDA from decades ago, so it's not like Apple didn't know about possibilities, it's just that they only release features when they can put enough R&D into it. Which makes sense, because Apple engineers are hardly any more talented than Google or Microsoft engineers, it's just that they're collectively more focused at any point in time.

Ios 17 is cool, as an old iPhone user it's nice to see more improvements even if Android had these years ago

(Android user here) Some of those new features are really impressive and very smart ! Though i thought the several clocks at once was already a thing on iPhones.

Would love to see the different android versions to. Maybe even a comparison between Nothing OS, One UI etc. That should be incredibly interesting.

There’s no real differences 😂😂 he’s going to make a video saying “on nothing OS the button looks like this, but on one UI it looks slightly different”😂😂

@Top Tier Techdo you have any idea of the overloaded features in one ui? And customizations in other androids? And I'm sure you don't even know about good lock then

@Haardik Khanna What does one UI have that OxygenOS doesnt? different aesthetics and slight customization differences? No ones watching that video 😂😂 That's why he doesn't talk about the different android OS as it is when reviewing phones

Finally, I got excited about a system update! The back-to-back conversation for Siri + ChatGPT API would become a HUGE combination. Just think about setting up your own JARVIS, using the voice and ear of Siri but the Brain of ChatGPT (No offense to Siri's brain but, sorry we all know who is the smartest LOL

One thing that’s new with Dynamic Island is that now since Widgets are interactive, the expanded view of Live Activities from Dynamic Island can also be interactive (have buttons etc) since they are also made using WidgetKit

Thank you for this, Mr. Arun!!! 😎📱 Such an interactive presentation of this IOS17!!! Wow, technology and Apple keeps on progressing! I hope Android respond to it (as I am an Android phone user) 🔥

As and Android user since lifetime, I can't help but stick my eyes into these Apple videos. I am captured and fascinated from every iOS new feature, and I am seriously considering to switch to iPhone. Bit I am scared of prices, whether be accessories' or the phone itself. Is It wise to switch to the iPhone 14 (not Pro) right now or should I wait some more?
2 ай бұрынDarren Small
Don't. I switched to iphone 13 pro max after being android for over a decade. I can't even begin to tell u how much I regretted it. I switched back to a fold 5 after a year and I'm so glad I'm back

Do believe the iPhone 15 will be my first iPhone ever. Always been a Samsung guy since the S2, I bought a s20 when it came out and it's great. Androids peaking, since android 10 I've seen nothing but massive Ws in the OS. My android phones too good though, I'd like a change and a lot of what Apple does is somewhat implemented in its own ways say by Google or Samsung but not always quite as good! I'm drawn towards trying iOS. My last device was an iPod Touch 5th generation, not even comparing to today's iOS 16-17 when it's stuck on iOS 9. Hopefully iPhone is as good as it looks and becomes my new go to opposed to android, which does have a lot more freedom and I've taken good advantages of that on older / newer devices but I've become more basic in my phone usage over the past few years so I think it would work for me!

Quite cool knowing you don't need audio books , I also don't set my tabs in a folder especially when you have to keep updating it so I think the personal and work makes a huge browser , I actually now feel I need to make a plan to buying the iphone which comes out this year❤

I honestly prefer android over iOS but I'm always impressed by apple and how they make all these features just another part of your daily life! I really don't think there is anything like it on Android

As an android fanboy, I legit give props to Apple. First off, beating Google at Dictation is already impressive, but all the other QoL updates are amazing. Kinda making me wanna switch but at the same time there's a lot of downsides to switching

Using multiple browser profiles on desktop is a "hack" I've been using for years. It's amazingly useful as you can keep 100% of everything separately (bookmarks, history, themes, preferences, cookies, cache, etc.) - so glad this is coming to Safari mobile!

Hey Absolutely love your explanation as I accidentally closed the ios tour after updating and couldn’t find a way to reopen it again. Are the features you mentioned like in lock mode also available on all the models like the SE 2? Thank you very much in advance for your reply

Another great video! So excited for iOS 17… Sorry if I misunderstood but can we also design our contact lists photos? All my family are android users but I’d want them to have a cool contact photo with the same aesthetic as mine… can I design contacts I input into my phone myself or is it just literally my own poster I can make?
2 ай бұрынWendi O
Yes, keep making them and keep your concise style, I like the highlights vs. the droning on and on of most other creators.

I really hope Apple opens up the contact poster API so that it's not only iPhone users who can use and see it. Out of my contact list about only 1/3 have an iPhone so it would be relatively useless for me if they didn't try to add it onto other platforms.

I think Apple actually really respects what Google is doing with the Pixel lineup of phones behind closed doors. As they should, they really are constantly making the smartest smartphone. As corny as that sounds, it's true. It's a smart move to adopt a few of their features. Google and Apple really have the software side of things dialed in. Samsung is always at the forefront of pushing the hardware innovation of course. Could you imagine how amazing of a phone could be created if all 3 of those companies collaborated on one phone? Maybe even add in Carl Pei/Nothing to help spice up the exterior design as well with that transparent/led light thing they have going. That phone would be one absolutely incredible piece of tech.
