I love so much stuff on this phone, the design, simplicity, OS and good specs without being overkill. I'm searching for a new phone since the battery on my current one is terrible by now, but those photos compared with Pixel 7 damn... and the price range at least in Europe is very close to a flagship price, it's a shame but for that reason I'm out. Who knows if until the Pixel 8 comes out they will be able to improve the camera software and when the price drops in a deal, then yes.

As someone who works from home, and gets distracted easily, the Glyph system is one of the best ways for me to flip over the phone, avoid distractions, but won't be constantly checking my phone for works issues everytime I get a notification. It's an out of sight, out of mind situation that really benefits the notification anxiety I would get when receiving a notification.

I personally like the look and feel of the original Android, especially since Android 12. However, I must say that Nothing OS 2 looks awesome too! As for customisation, I feel like companies ruin the phone when they try to add too many customisation options. As is the case with Xiaomi phones.

Finally got my hands on this phone!. I really love nothing's branding & their unique design choices. I was willing to give up a couple of features for it. I was still skeptical that it will just be show piece instead of being useful. But after using it I totally vouch for nothing. This phone has so much personality, it fast & smooth if you're upgrading from a mid-ranger its just crazy. Only thing I found that's a bit of a compromise is the camera. Its very good but not impressive especially considering the price.

For the next idea: nothing can put a small circular, or square shape screen near the indicator to show what app is on priority, this may highlight to multiple use of apps that on priority and knowing what app is indicating is a plus. And nothing can ofcourse use their design widget. This would be awesome.

from my experience as a product manager, when it comes to giving users options, the fewer the better. I love android, and I find it awesome that I can control every aspect about it. That is because I am a tech savvy, but when it comes to majority of users, it would be overwhelming to be bombarded with tons of features and options! It makes sense to give users basic popular options, but if you need more options, come on, you have an android phone. slap an app on that that gives you that specific option.

Great review. This phone is blistering fast. A total look back on the older one plus phones. An absolute fantastic buy for those that aren’t really bothered by not having the best camera. For me smooth scrolling is one of the most appealing traits. This phone flys as does my one plus 11. The nothing phone 2 is faster to the eye than my S23 Ultra. Although the ultra, on paper is a more powerful device. But in real day to day applications it’s not in most cases.

If they can do the iPhone clone thin symmetrical bezel thing with a really good UDC they’d fulfil Jonny Ive’s uninterrupted slab of glass vision before Apple and that would be really something. The transparent back with layered interesting futuristic stuff is cool but the glyph interface is ultimately gimmicky IMO. Great comparison video from Arun though👍

In my vision I think they did a good job with the chipset because 8 gen 1 at this price is still mad because It is a flagship chipset after all and they might give an update in future for haptic feedback issues hopefully but am a bit disappointed in camera compartment but rather than that it's the king at this price!

As a Nothing 1 user for 7 months now I can say that I don't enjoy NothingOS and use a different launcher instead. I hope 2.0 will be good enough to reconsider it. And pull-down menu feels way inferior to MIUI which has 2 different ones depending on which side you pull. Other than that, love the phone.

The only problem for a lot of companies for people like me, a person living in South Africa is that most of these phones are not even an option to get if you want an easy life. For example for the last few years, I have been importing the Google Pixels for my son, but this means even getting a case is real planning since you have to import that, and the worry is always if the phone ever break, you might struggle to fix it. This is what has caused Apple, Samsung and Huawei to be the leaders in some countries, it's simply out of the difficulty to acquire these phones.

I really like the improvements of the phone, but hopefully the Phone (3) will move to the Snap Gen 3 chipset for better battery life, performance, and network capabilities, and also do a major upgrade to the cameras and camera app capabilities. Right now it is still too much of a midrange phone for me to consider moving to
Ай бұрынSiPlSe
Ofc that would be nice, though the Phone 2s performance is amazing. When I have used the Phone for 4 hours (screen on time) I still have about 70% left. The cameras are great, though the lack of a telephoto lens is the only thing I really miss on the Phone. My previous Phone, the s21 were really good at zooming. But the Phone 2 is just an amazingly fast Phone for its price. Really like it.

I've come to appreciate a sliiiiiightly bigger chin bezel since the OnePlus 7T Pro and now the Zenfone 10. I love symmetry, but I love not having accidental awkwardness with gestures more. Note: I always remove the gesture indicator at the bottom, so the display usually gets right down to the bottom, so a chin helps with this. EDIT: I have over 330 apps installed and have been charging the Zenfone 10 to 80% max using the Battery Care feature and I get 7+ hours SOT with 12% remaining. Pretty impressive. I need to stop letting it go below 20% though for the longevity of the battery.

Nice content, the nothing phone 2 is really a very impressive phone can you get a lot of bang for your buck, but I do feel like 1+ before as you pointed out the camera is where they compromise clearly, but one can just download the Gcam apk to sort out the camera issue somewhat, but I’m very impressed that nothing. At this point, 1 or 2 year old flagship SoC is more than adequate. They have already passed a certain level of performance and features that you won't be able to tell the difference, unless you're benchmarking. Software updates and optimisation should do the trick. My Xperia 5 II's snapdragon 860 is perfectly fine 3 years later. Only problem is heat, but it's something Sony phones struggle with(from my experience). Summer months aren't very kind to it. I hope Nothing sticks to their guns and focuses on 1 or 2 at the most phones every year and do the polishing. I had hoped for HMD global and their revival of the Nokia brand for smartphones, even got the first generation of Nokia 5. But then they started churning out phones like it was a bakery. Which made them look and feel just like any other Chinese company that oversaturates their portfolio.

Btw the actual best thing about the nothing brand that i personally really liked is that they didn't go for the dirty tactics like releasing pro ultra max versions of 1 model like iphone or Samsung. Maybe after few months that the phone is out it will improve enough to be worth it for me but as it is now I don't think I'm convinced enough to buy it. I absolutely love the design, it's unique and super minimal without being minimal, but the price is still too much for what it offers. Also, the camera is a so so and I don't think fixing bugs will change it (but I'm not an expert so maybe it's possible)

I'm already tossing up between the phone (2) and the Asus Zenphone 10, which is amazing. Both these phones look great, with the Zenphone costing a bit more here in Australia for a slightly more high-end Experience. However, I can't help but like Nothing as a company. I like that they are a small company that is trying to be unique, and I'm willing to accept a few flaws in order to support a company that is trying to shake things up a little. After all, things will only get better with time, and it is already incredibly hard to get into the smartphone industry from scratch like they have done. I'm a OnePlus user currently, got the 7T, and its life is almost over, so I'm thinking about one of these two phones. For me, it's just a question of whether or not I want to compromise on that camera quality. I'm sure the camera is probably fine, and will get better with updates, but I need a little bit of time to think about it.

Not convinced really by the glyph interface yet. I just feel what it does could be implemented for the screen itself, more control over notification priority, and larger displays for timers in high priority ones. It feels like a solution looking for a problem. A lot it does well, just not that I feel.

Bro I got the phone 2. I love the nothing os. Glyph is kinda of useless but it's cool

Useless and makes the phone look like a child’s toy in my opinion. I’m 40. Walking around with this thing was wrong. iPhone for the win. 15PM next week or two hopefully

Will the company consider venturing into the tablet arena? The phone is great enough to skip out in the mainstream flagships

Last gen chip is Not a downside. I'm using an exynos variant of the note 20 ultra and while it is worse than the snapdragon counterpart it's 100% still very comparable with today's s23 in almost every way. The 8+gen1 is probably still better than having a current gen mid range qualcomm chip inside. Having a top end current soc is only an issue if you play intensive mobile games. Literally any other workload can be done with a 5 year old flagship qualcomm soc and you wouldn't notice the difference as long as it has ufs3 storage or newer

The phone I'm currently using is pretty decent.. so only planning to switch after a 4 or 4.5 years, at that time if opting Android this Nothing will be my 1st choice (given that they become what they claim to) (and ofc if smartphones are still relevant)

Nothing is winning the market game. Carl Pei as usual cracking it. He has done it with One Plus , now with Nothing. Brought almost all big tech youtubers on board to review & market this phone at a mass scale. Hopefully the sales numbers will be even bigger & phone doesn’t disappoints. Huge expectations from Carl Pei.

I have the Nothing Phone 1 and it's true that the glyph interface is more a gimmick...but what's also true is you use it unconsciously more often than you think. Sometimes I just put my phone on the table with the screen down as a way to avoid using when I'm with ppl and the glyph interface is just my LED notification but magnified. Plus is fun to see xD

Thanks for the video. I do have 1 query which I hope you'll try to answer. Any idea why the Phone 2 doesn't support HDR on Netflix? Do you think they might add the support in the near future? It's kinda deal breaker for me as I consume a lot of Netflix content. I was looking forward to this phone but disappointed that it lacks in this area, surprisingly.

Companies need to pay for the hdr Netflix compatibility I don't remember how it's called, but yeah even if the phone hardware supports it, if the company doesn't have the agreement with Netflix it won't support it

Can I just say how well your video is scripted ?! This is your first video that I’m seeing and while I absolutely love every word that’s gone into the making of this incredibly informative and slightly “sales” oriented video, I would love to see you slow down on the info for the less tech-cuated(tech educated) folks like myself 🙊 Then again, great video. I look forward to more ✨⚡️

The way I see it, the phone is gimmicky and not so much gimmicky at the same time. A person wants to have a personal time off or wants to stave off the FOMO, would rather program their current phone to be able to manage their screen times better. Also, the 2 key areas, where the phone could have made up were the cameras and the chipset. Which was the biggest reason why I chose Pixel 6a over the Nothing Phone (1). Will be a test to see if it does better. I have lesser hopes with this one. Glyff is cool though, wont buy it solely for that. nah.

Honestly the glyph is cool, but I wouldn't use it as I always put a rugid phone case on (generally an otterbox). But definately looks cool if I ever need a cheaper option. But also I doubt that it will be avaliable in Australia anyway?

@Mrwhosetheboss I love these non flagship phone outside of the more known companies and I would love to get more of these phones but what i’m more concerned about is the repairs of these phone like what is the market price for fixing these phone, how easily parts availability, and who is willing to repair these phones. If you could give us a video explaining these points or giving us options when it comes to repairs for these phones would be amazing.

If you don't really care about cameras then I would say I will surely recommend the nothing phone 2 over the pixel 7a or even the pixel 7. Yes pixels have good camera but also very fluid software but one thing is that tensor g2 is not as much as powerful as a flagship. Nothing has average cameras but the company can improve the software experience over time because they literally have only two phones to optimise and yeah 8+ gen1 is overkill for most mid range buyers. Hopefully Carl keep the same pace at improving

Gonna wait for the next iteration. Faced a lot of issues with phone 1. Since the old OnePlus gang is back....may be they're gonna iron out whatever issues still left and next one's gonna knock it out of the park.

this was a really good video but i have to kind of disagree when it comes to the selfie camera. yes, it does not expose as good as the pixel 7, but the detail (especially in motion) in stuff like beard hair looks better, which means the hardware is better, they just have to work on the software. i would love to see another video on the phone 2 in a few months, looking what has improved software wise, as that is currently definitly one of its strengths and a way they can really set themselves apart!

Sin the LG G4 era, long time ago, the resolution dilema was done for me. Anything with 400ppi density is more than optimal for a phone screen.

I'm so lost on this. I looked into it loads over the last two days because I love the design and wanted to swap to it....problem is...I have a s21 ultra and if you compare it all to that (which you can buy new for £350 btw) it's well overpriced and under spec'd. Yes the CPU is better. But after that it loses out in all regards and that's hard to swallow. Also before everyone kicks in with updates. Nothing says they'll do 3 major updates, Samsung does 5 meaning they'll get updates equally even if s21 ultra is a 2.5yr old phone. Pure disappointment.

Its the simplicity that i loved about the phone 1, with the exception of a disastrous attempt to switch to a Huawei for 2 days, I've been with iphones since the 3gs, wouldnt go back after this one. Dont think ill be upgrading until the 3 comes out however

1:52 hey i think phone 1’s displays aspect ratio was slightly better it has the 19.5:9 ratio andn it also makes the height and width look more eye pleasing and symmetrical overall great. iphones has the same aspect ratio on the other hand new phone 2s is actually 20:9 i wish phone 3 will brings the good old phone 1s aspect ratio to establish the brands display sight 6.7inch 19.5:9 last thing if the back glass was flat that would be perfect and the black if they made actually like matte black or like the iphone 14 pros space black not like grayish
