I'm an android user, so I might be a little biased, but I think the biggest improvement is the switched charger. Now, I'm not upgrading to this phone, I have a perfectly fine S21+, but the switch to USB - C is a game changer like you said. Even though some people may not be happy at start, Over time, people will realize the true potential and worth of this new charger port

Great video! Notes: Titanium is not stronger than steel, it is simply lighter. Stability in both cases, however, depends heavily on the alloy. Pure titanium would even be significantly softer than steel and more susceptible to scratches. Also the USB-C connector of the standard iPhone 15 is usb 2.0 not 3.0

I think the reason Apple makes extra differentiation between regular iPhone and pro version processor is because in the future there will be cuts to how long each will receive software updates. Currently, they phase out models by year, but if they can justify to cut one model short because it is "not powerful enough" it will convince people to buy Pro version to "future proof". I am currently on iPhone XS MAX (5 years old!) and it is still fully capable of all tasks, I have no reason to switch other than battery life. When they stop iOS updates next year, there will be a short while after (maybe a year) and then banking apps will stop working on the phone. This will definitely be a point where I am forced to switch, if I won't before. In theory, this is 7 years of life for a phone. If more people do this penny pitching phone ownership, which is kinda reasonable considering high end version cost $1,400 after tax, it can be a serious problem for Apple. They need to shorten useful life span of device by offering ludicrous features like ray tracing to destroy performance. There will be real innovation along the way, but the majority of features are pure gimmick. Look, today people are excited 'cause they changed color to "titanium" and new port, yahoo!
12 күн бұрынkasziel
Ah! Same here, tho installing iOS 17 almost killed mine. I don’t think ray tracing is going to do anything to the phone performance in time, since it has a very specific use which is not on all the time, unless u meant something different with destroy performance

The action button reminds me of the Back Tap feature that allows users to tap the back of the iPhone to run various functions. Besides, Back Tap can also be optimized more than the action button. So, if you’re considering getting a new iPhone just because of this button, remember that with the back tap feature your iPhone can do the exact same thing as the action button does.
12 күн бұрынBAQ07 +8

Besides the new action button which I’m totally on board with just like the Apple Watch Ultra, I’m most intrigued by being able to shoot “3D Vision Pro” video right off the iPhone Pro to be played on Vision headsets years down-the-line. That’s extremely alluring man!

I dunno about the action button , I kinda liked the the old switch , and I use it a fair bit , and it will be interesting to see if the new button can get activated by accident , which the old one could not. But yes the 3D vision looks cool.

One detail I didnt hear anyone talk about is the renaming of the chip to A 17 _pro._ This is a clear sign that the regular iPhone 16 wont get the pro chip a year later, but probably a regular a17 next year. The a17 pro has a dedicated USB section, which allows faster speeds and saving videos directly to external drives. Also the hardware ray tracing. I expect this features to remain exclusive to the “pro” iPhone models, simply based on the naming a17 pro instead of just a17

It's also Apple Vision Pro.. so the name doesn't have to mean anything.. but ur right.. would be strange If Apple would start adding nice features to their phones (like a 120HZ display or even a USB-C 3 or 3.2 port... but thats probably to expensive in production.. we have to keep in mind that it's only a 1000 Bugs)

@o/ Well, 120 Hz burns more battery and is not necessary for the majority of people. So they focus on actually great things like Face ID :D
13 күн бұрынSanic Ze Hedgehog +21
@PfropfNo1120 Hz doesn't burn more battery when it's done correctly i.e (Adaptive Smoothing) which changes the refresh rate depending on what's on your screen, and most people can actually tell the difference between 60 and 120 Hz, but maybe not higher than that. Also, face ID isn't as practical as a fingerprint for example, you can unlock your phone with a fingerprint faster and in any condition e.g (lying down or in poor light conditions) whereas with face ID you need a good picture of your face, it's a cool feature but not that important imo.

Binning to 24 mega pixel photos is a great idea, the 12 MP shots before were still pretty decent on 13 PM, the 48 MP shots are great but suffer in little depending on lighting conditions. The decision to bin to 24 MP is a good idea! I’m liking it but i will be sticking to my 13 mini for awhile or until the next mini phone.

Good analysis on the Pro, and it was missing a big point: pro users will sell or pass on their old pro phones, which also happens all the way down the line. Many people will pass on their iPhones, and many of those will go to new users. So they are growing the number of users of iPhone due to their long life, which increases revenue in Apple products and services.

So 15 pro max will be worse at taking portrait? 15 pro could be better
10 күн бұрынJonti Pitt
@Jajami Dusisuki not worse, it’s just that fixed 77mm-ish full frame equiv lens on the PRO is much more convenient for portraits. The 120mm on the PM is quite far, and to get to 77mm ish mm focal length on the PM you’ll need to crop the main sensor I believe.

For videos like this and the advance testing, it'd be cool to see how the iPhone 15 does against the phones of previous years. Most people don't get new phones every year. They pay them off over 2-3 years and then start looking for upgrades. Should I bother spending money to upgrade my 13 pro to a 15 model or should I hold on to the 13 pro is the question

Honestly this is my biggest debate right now too. I have the 13 pro and I really am debating to upgrade.

Anybody think it’s worth it to go from the iPhone 13 Pro to the 15 plus? I like taking pictures but feel like I’m not taking full advantage of the 13 pro’s camera, and I’m really just looking forward to that bigger screen and usb-c. I’ll also be trading in an iPad Air 5, so it’ll be about $125. Any argument for the 15 pro max? It would be about $300 more, with the only main differences I can think about is the higher usb speed, which I know I wouldn’t use, and the camera

Your videos are well prepped and well executed. I find myself often times more engaged and interested in them more than the actual product/s you're reviewing lol. You should consider some form of, do they call it, horizontal integration? I mean, anyone out there willing to buy the reviewed products or who just wants to know more about the products, is going to watch at least 2 from different unique trusted sources. Subtly hint in certain videos of big rollouts like this one, to viewers to checkout your #1 competitors videos as well. They were already going to check another video most likely, you just helped them to find the other good source. That way, you and your competitor get to have all the views instead of sharing them with random others. Next time the viewers will still come to you and 'your competition' because when they listen to both of you, you leave them feeling like they already have the product in their hands from your detailed different perspectives. Keep up the good work!

Hi! In my opinion and feeling, this year's iphone 15 and 15 plus have wonderful colors and appearance, airy and soft pastel tones, it's a pity that one of the Pro models does not have, for example, a pastel green tone like the iphone 15 and 15 Plus. These pastel shades are striking with their camera accent and at the same time understated, very elegant shades like frosted, premium phones. The iPhone Pro line is also beautiful, with a titanium frame and a modest color shade, for example Natural Titanium is beautiful and also Titanium blue, I like these shades.

I have a 12 Mini but I've always preferred an Android. The iPhone's improving software features has made me appreciate it more, but it never felt as fun or satisfying as Androids so day-to-day. I think this generation finally gave the iPhone that feeling of satisfaction that's tempting me to reconsider, so good on Apple for stepping up their game.

11:36 agreed: your hand is more rounded than angular when grabbing something. Which is _why_ the square-edged phone is _easier_ to hold onto with less force: it can’t as easily shift around, so you don’t need as much force to be sure of your grip. I’m hoping the 15’s are a happy medium for people like you, but the iPhones 12/13/14 were already the perfect compromise for me between too curved and slippery (like iPhone 6 through 11) and too sharp (like the edges of the palm rests of some MacBooks). I loved the camera and speed of my 11 Pro, but the feel in hand, and the need to make it even bulkier with a case just so that I’d stop dropping it, was a constant source of frustration. I was low-key annoyed with my phone the entire 2+ years I owned it—only Apple device I’ve ever had (in 40 years*) that I regularly wondered if I’d made a bad decision to buy it? I almost paid the significant financial penalty of getting a 12 Pro _just_ to get a phone that was comfortable to hold again. * admittedly, I avoided the hockeypuck and Magic Mouses because it only took 5 minutes each to know that they were awful designs. The iPhone 11 Pro was the only Apple device that I underestimated the downsides when weighing whether to buy or which thing to buy.

Glad to see the use of a standard USB-C cable. Apple enjoyed creating this sense of cult-like exclusivity so everything from the type of charger to blocking androids from engaging in the same way in group chats. It was all a way to make it known publicly that you either had an iPhone or an Android (generally seen as substandard).

I love Arun’s videos. Most reviews feel copy and pasted but Arun adds the thoughts that are often on my mind. For example the combo of iPhone 15 Pro and Vision Pro being kinda nice but crazy expensive, that mobile game companies definitely aren’t gonna do anything with the ray tracing, that sharp edges have never made sense in our round hands, that the location of the action button is going to be inconvenient for most people. These are very useful insights for the consumer.

USB 3.2 was launched in 2017. The new transfer speeds boast an impressive 2.4GBps making it almost 2.5x faster than USB 3.0. USB 3.2 is only available on USB-C connectors because it utilizes extra pins that were designed for the reversibility of USB-C. The USB family naming system was updated again which differentiates between the new transfer modes. Unfortunately, the USB 3.0 standard (which is in iphone15 series) was released in November of 2008.😅

The problem is it doesn’t matter about the shape of the new edges and the ever so slight rounding which makes it more comfortable to hold, as 95% of people use a case to protect their expensive phone, and the cases that manufacturer’s make for them will still be bog standard square shaped and uncomfortable. I really wish they’d change back to the fully rounded edges or provide more options, one rounded and one square. Sticking with a square design for the past 4 years is the reason I still have my XS. I purchased the 13 pro max and returned it and purchased the 14 last year and returned it, both were too big and the square edges made them uncomfortable for me to hold.

The 5x zoom actually makes me quite happy ;) I'm not interested in getting a larger phone, so I'm content with the regular 15 Pro. However, the variable 3-6x optical zoom would tempt me to switch to the Max.

It's not optical zoom 3--6x ... You have 1x then crop, crop, crop, crop and 5x

It’s like another YouTuber said apple is using bs talk to make you think you have 7 lenses but it’s just cropping into the sensor which then uses less pixils so in theory your picture quality will go down but the 5x zoom is optical not digital we have to see if it’s any good

I know it’s new to apple phone users 5x zoom which many phones have had a long time and I’m happy for you that you all finally got 5x zoom oh almost forgot usbc which they were forced into but still you have awsome slowly apple is heading into the android dark side lol

Mrwhosetheboss has the best tech channel ever. His videos are works of art. I’ve always wanted to do tech reviews but too anxious to start and if I did it, I’d of been lucky to produce content a quarter this concise, informative and fun to watch. A master at his craft. Maybe I’ll start that channel, f888 it.

00:05 The iPhone 15 series has a new design and dynamic island feature. 01:45 The iPhone 15s have a brighter secondary display and a new Ultra wide bandship wideband. 03:33 Apple has shifted from a lightning connector to a USB-C. 05:14 The base iPhones are getting a USB-C port and faster transfer speeds. 06:59 The iPhone 15 Pros have a significant gap between Pro and non-Pro 08:43 The new iPhone has a trimmed design and an action button. 10:26 The new iPhone Pro features a lighter and stronger titanium enclosure. 12:11 The iPhone 14 Pro camera has improved low light performance and reduced lens flares. 13:53 iPhone 15 Pros will use the main 1X camera and crop into it, but having two Zoom cameras would improve quality. 15:36 The new iPhones have Wi-Fi 6E, improved battery life, and a price increase.

I am pumped about these upgrades myself! I currently run an iPhone 11 Pro Midnight Green 256GB and will be upgrading to the iPhone 11 Pro 25GGB probably in Black or Silver. As a small iPhone lover I really liked to hear that the Pro iPhones are substantially lighter this year AND smaller due to the very small bezel size, this is amazing news! and the fact the battery's are getting larger, huge fan of long long lasting battery life. Also excited that more and more iPhones will have the Dynamic Island so hoping that more and more developers will use this in clever ways. I am also really looking forward to the new ACTION button as I NEVER liked the mute switch on the iPhone. I was actually hoping for the longest time they would remove this mute switch in favor of just being able to mute your iPhone via a screen toggle. But the action button does look cool!

Not a lot has changed but I don't think we can or should expect that right now from phones everything in my opinion is going to come from software and not hardware. The changes apple did make are nice and as a 1 pro max user I wish I had the action button because I'd love to press it and it start recording a voice memo right then. Going USB-C and saying it's "better for the environment" I think is a bit of stretch its just like when people who only bought iPhones then complained they stopped putting chargers in the box when they already had chargers. People want and want and want the environment isn't not heir list of things they care about they want to produce a crap ton of waste and then it ends up in the oceans and in poor countries.

It’s the other way around, never has never been a smaller difference between the pro and regular models. 15 got the matte back, 48MP, good zoom, dynamic island, and the pro processor. 15 is the way to go this year, especially after discounts.

As a lefty, I am glad to have that action button there :p but I guess for Righties it's harder to reach yeah, although how many times will you actually be using it, it's the same height as the on of switch, so most will probably also still use it like that. I really like to have shortcuts on it, doing that with the ultra already and it's super handy!

I feel the only significant change in the iPhone is the USB-C port, which everyone is talking about. This change, in hindsight, happened because they were compelled to do so by the EU. If they hadn't made this change, just imagine what the iPhone 15 launch would have been like. PS: You accidentally mentioned the iPhone 14 Pro Max 13:04 Great video, like always.

In an android phone I can play a game in half of a screen where I can watch or hear YouTube in another half of the screen, even your high end apple doesn't have any sort of that features

TSMC built A17 Bionic is a beast of a processor, there is no denying it. Crazy how Apple bought all the 3nm chips from TSMC; like their entire supply. In comparison, the S24 Ultra is going to come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, its not going to outpace the A17 Bionic because its built on the 4nm architecture, SD 8 Gen 3 beats last years A16 bionic by a considerable margin though. Also, Samsung and other companies are going 3nm next year. Its also good to know all S24 ultras will be have the same SD8 gen 3 globally.

Hi, as the title describes, I am about to be a brand new iPhone user. However, I am unsure which model to get and it's giving me a huge headache. I am considering the regular base iPhone 15 and the base 15 pro. From my research, the upgrades from the regular 14 to the regular 15 seem significant, but at the same time, I wonder if getting the pro would be a better option considering it has features exclusive to the pro models and could potentially have a better resale value in the future. I am also curious if the pro can justify the extra $200 over the regular iPhone and if the cameras on the regular 15 are similar to the previous year's 14 pro's' cameras. Opinions will be greatly appreciated!

Apple is staying as a to tier no matter what, I'm really glad they went back to smooth curves more than anything, by the way what do you do with all these phones you get, the ones you shoot or just plain drop on the floor, do you sell them? I'd like to hold a phone that's been on one of your videos, you are a celebrity out in Africa.

All sounds pretty good. I am most excited about the little top bar, which allows me to keep track of things without switching to the relevant app. The action button I honestly can’t see any use for, because…I use a Pro Max and have small hands. I genuinely can’t even reach my volume buttons without getting the other hand involved. The power button multifunctionality is very much where it is at for more too. Will I be upgrading? Don’t think so, because currently my 13 Pro Max can very comfortably still handle my usage. As I tend to upgrade whenever my battery can’t handle 24 hours of use anymore, I am pretty excited by the power saving chip though.

the USB 3 port is only reserved for the iphone 15 pro. the basic iphone 15 still has a standard of USB 2, which is about the same speed as the lightning transfer speed.
